"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth." -John 1:14
The Son of God, the Second Person of the Trinity became man and dwelt among men. He participated in our history and in our human activities. The glory of God was seen and felt by those who saw Him and walked with Him. The book of Hebrews says of Jesus "he is the glory of the invisible God".
The verse says that Jesus was full of grace and truth. Let's take the latter description first. Full of truth; He is the embodiment of truth. In Him is all truth; all truth is in Him. It is He who sets us free from lies and darkness by exposing us to Him who is the truth. The closer we come to Him the more clearly we see things as they really are. The more we live away from Him the more and more we accept lies and darkness.
Full of Grace. In Jesus God visited us so that we would not lose our souls for eternity. God through Jesus has given us a large and spacious door to enter through. This is God's grace in action. In Jesus all the mercy of God is in fullest expression to all who believe in the Name of the only begotten of God. In Jesus God gives us all that we do not deserve, namely: the forgiveness of all our sins. We call this God's grace.
Run to Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
